ok may be it's no big deal but i think it's bull shit, went to a sight to sign up and typed in my user name and found out that someone eles is using it, maybe someone eles came up with the same name but doubt it.
if you can't come up with a name for your self you need to go back to school, maybe the special ed program, you need to try and come up with your own ideas, and grow up.
Zenta, tough luck man. You don't have copyright to that word or name and anyone is free to use it on any site the please provided you haven't already signed up. Apply your logic to your won situation, if you're not capable of thinking of two user names you are in trouble my friend.

well I understand how you feel, just wondering if you had the name first though, or whether someone else had it before you signed up. If they had the nickname before you signed up, most likely they didn't know you were trying to use the same nickname. When I created an account with aim, I wanted to use wonderwoman, because the name has become so much a part of me on the net, no other name feels right, but try as I might using different numbers with it, wonderwoman 2000 wonderwoman 62, and so on, they were all taken, oh well, thems the breaks. I've pretty much stopped reading someone elses topics after I've replied to the person, because of the responses, but I'll check this topic again later, and if yours is the last message posted to it, I'll come back and respond again. ok like i said it's no big deal, i mean i'm not going to lose any sleep over it or any thing, but i guess that's why they call this the rant board, i have used this name for quite some time now on many other web sight and i do like making life as easy as possable, i mean come on life is hard enough as it is, i no it's funny and glad i could make some people laugh.
When signing up to hotmail, i had to try about ten different usernames :( and yes it is the rant board! Lol

Well I have to say it depends on the site. I mean if it's your email, then you might be fucked. But if it's only another site, and as long as this other one does not find any private informations about you, I think you'll be fine.

actually, as someone who has had to try for what seems a thousand times before I found a name that wasn't in use, I know how zenter feels. This is like what I was saying earlier about feelings and logic being at war. The logical part of me knew they didn't know I even existed, let alone that they already had a user name I wanted, but on the emotional side, it made me frustrated, and inwardly I was ranting and stamping my feet and shouting, darn it! darn it! darn it! isn't, there, a, user name, that's not, taken? the outward and logical part of me was calm and logical, but the inner emotional part of me was throwing a tantrum. I finally got so irritated on one site, because every user name I tried, said, this user name already exists, I choose irritated 1. Zenter is just acting out what I've felt before. It's a good thing no one can read minds on here.

Gosh zenter you sure are touchy. Everyone has the choice to have there own name. The person might not have known it was your name of choice before they created it.

Wel, there's plenty of fish in the sea. This also goes for user names. The easiest way to do this is think of the things you love, something you know real well, but most of all, easy to remember. It is trial and error my friend, so if one doesn't work, try another.
